January 2010
Jan. 17th – Sunday 3:00
Sushi No Kun Sho (bo kata) Seminar – This is the Brown Belt kata of the month. All ranks may attend. If you would like to learn a weapons kata for the up coming tournament this is the easiest of our weapons katas to learn. The Seminar will run from 3:00 – 4:30. Cost is $20 for the first family member and $15 for the second family member.
Jan 18th – 21st – Mon. – Thurs. all classes.
Competition Week - We will devote all of our class to competition practice for the tournament on the following Saturday. Some classes will focus on kata (with and with out weapons), some will focus on sparring. This is to prepare our team for the tournament. If you have never competed this is a go way to get prepared.
Jan. 23rd – Saturday 8:30-4:00
Colorado Springs Traditional Invitational Tournament – Will be help at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Colorado Springs. Cost is $40 per competitor. this covers all events. Spectator are free. See Sensei Ward for details.
February 2010
Feb. 13th – Saturday 1:00 – 2:30
Black Belt Pre-Test – All brown belts are invited to attend the BB Pre-Test. If you intend to test for Black Belt this spring this is a required event.
Feb. 15-16 – Monday & Tuesday all classes
Belt Test - Ward’s Family Karate will be holding belt testing during regular class time Monday and Tuesday. Cost $20 per person.
Feb. 20th – Saturday 10:00-11:30
Eagle Claw Kung Fu Seminar – This is the 3rd in a series of Eagle Claw Kung Fu seminars. Cost is $20. You must be Brown Belt or above and 16 years of or more to attend.
March 2010
Mar. 19th – 20th
Black Belt Test – The Black Belt written test will be Friday night at 6:00. The physical test will be Saturday at 12:00 – 4:00. All students are invited to the black belt ceremony Saturday at 6:00 PM. (street clothes only, no uniforms please).
Mar 21st – Sunday 3:00
Jion kata Seminar – This is the Brown Belt kata of the month. Ranks of Orange and above may attend. The Seminar will run from 3:00 – 4:30. Cost is $20 for the first family member and $15 for the second family member.
Mar. 27th – Saturday 9:00-12:00
Inter-club Karate Tournament - This is a special ribbon tournament. The cost has been reduced to only $10. We would like all karate students to participate. The tournament will be held at the Family Karate Center.
April 2010
Apr. 12th + 13th – Monday & Tuesday all classes
Belt Test - Ward’s Family Karate will be holding belt testing during regular class time Monday and Tuesday. Cost $20 per person.
