Sensei Scott Ward, Chief Instructor
Sensei Scott Ward has lived in Colorado Springs since 1993. He was trained by Kyoshi Haynes of the Family Karate Center, right here in the Springs, in the art of Shotokan Karate, and was awarded a Black Belt on April 15th 2006.
Sensei Ward has competed in local, state, and national level tournaments since the beginning of his training. As a brown belt Sensei Ward became a National Sparring Champion, winning the 2005 State Games of America. In the same tournament he won the Silver medal in Kata, and the Bronze medal in Weapons Kata.
In addition to Karate, Sensei Ward is trained in the Art of Modern Arnis (Filipino stick fighting). Further augmenting his Karate skills, Sensei was a High School Wrestler, and Collegiate Fencer.
Sensei Ward runs multiple Karate Clubs in Colorado Springs. His clubs are operated in close association with Kyoshi Haynes of the Jay Haynes Family Karate Center.
Sensei Ward is passionate about the Martial Arts. His desire is to be a positive influence in the lives of children and to help them to grow up to be strong, courageous, and courteous young adults. |
